We welcome all boys into scouting regardless of race, choice of
religion, or ethnic or national origin. We encourage our members to
embrace the high ideals of the scouting movement and work to gain all
that scouting has to offer. The adult leadership of our Pack will make
every effort to assist our boys in becoming honorable and outstanding
citizens.
• It is our goal to help each of our scouts grow into
men who embrace God, country, family, and each other to embody the fine
virtues represented by all of these.
• It is the policy of the
Pack and scouting to involve parents and families in the program.
Parents are encouraged to participate in all Pack activities and join
our Pack's adult leadership. Parents are required to participate in the
weekly den meetings with their son while he is a Tiger, Wolf or Bear
Scout. When the scout reaches the ranks of Webelos I or II, weekly
parent's participation will be at the discretion of the Den Leader. In
the event scouts carpool to weekly meetings, the adult who drives the
scouts to the meeting shall stay with those scouts during the den
meeting.
• Regular meetings are held at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Den meetings are on Monday nights from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Pack meetings
are on the last Monday night of each month at 7:00pm. Pack outings may
also be announced from time to time. Scouts are encouraged to
participate in 100% of all activities to get the full benefits of the
scouting program.
• All Den and Pack Meetings will start on time regardless of who is or isn't there.

Scouts not missing more than 3 den meetings and 1 Pack meeting will be
awarded the Perfect Attendance Pin. A scout will be awarded a belt loop
or pin only once. In the event the scout earns the belt loop or pin
more than once, he will be given a card to recognize the achievement.
•
Pack 347 will follow the inclement weather plan of Wake County Public
School System for meeting cancellations. Parents should refer to their
yearly calendar for specific dates of den meetings.
• The scout
uniform is the required attire of the Boy Scouts of America. The
uniform, (Field Uniform or Activity Uniform), will be worn at all Pack
functions.
• New scouts are required to have full uniform
within 60 days of joining the Pack. The council strip, and pack number
should also be affixed to the shirt. The Activity Uniform uniform
consists of a scouting related t-shirt. If a problem exists with
obtaining the full uniform within the required time frame, please talk
with the Cubmaster. The neckerchief is to be rolled and tucked under
the shirt collar. Please refer to your Scout Handbook for more
information. Pants or shorts with belt loops are required for Field
Uniform uniform. Field Uniform uniform is required at all scouting
events unless otherwise specified by the event coordinator.

The Pack must have a current Pack 347 Information Sheet and Medical
Forms on every scout. These forms will be updated annually and filed in
a notebook kept by the Pack Committee Chair.
• There are annual
dues, which are to be paid by the first Pack Meeting in September. Dues
will be given to the Den Leader who will then forward them to the
Treasurer. If dues are not paid by the second Monday in October, any
and all awards will be held by the Advancement Coordinator and will not
be presented to the scout until the dues are paid in full. In the
event the bank returns a check written by a parent to the Pack for
insufficient funds, the bank fee, incurred by the Pack, will be
assessed to the parents.
• The Re-charter fee goes to register the scout with BSA annually and is due from parents in February of each year.

Camping, activity and admission fees are paid for in advance by the
families attending the event. If the family does not participate in
the event, the fees paid shall be forfeited and not reimbursed for any
reason.
• It is the Den Leader's responsibility to get required information to the parents.
•
All Pack Leaders must complete New Leader Essentials and Youth
Protection Training. Leaders must re-certify their training online
annually and provide a copy of the current training card to the Pack
Committee Chair.
• All award and advancement requests must be
given to the Advancement Chair no later than the Monday prior to the
scheduled Pack meeting using the required form. Requests will not be
accepted if they are not on the required form. Late award requests will
be accepted, if on the required form, but those awards or advancements
will not be presented until the following month's Pack Meeting.
• Tour Permits must accompany groups on outings. BSA covers any scout accident 100% if the group holds a Tour Permit.
• On all weekend activities, a Sunday worship service will be held before departure.
• Occoneechee Council must approve all fundraisers. Fundraiser information must be submitted using the Council form.

As scouts, we must conduct ourselves with honor, integrity and respect.
Profanity, lewdness, rudeness and inappropriate behavior such as theft,
vandalism, destructiveness and violence will not be tolerated.
Discipline ranges from verbal reprimand to expulsion from the Pack, at
the Pack Committees discretion. Conduct becoming a scout and
demonstrating scouting values will quickly be recognized and rewarded.

Alcohol, drugs, firearms, electronics, heeleys or trading cards are not
allowed at any scouting event. These items will be confiscated and held
by Pack leaders. At the end of the event the items will be returned to
parents. Unlawful items or activities WILL be reported to law
enforcement. Violations may result in suspension from Pack activities
or expulsion from the Pack as determined by the Pack Committee.
• Possession of illegal substances will result in immediate expulsion from the Pack without exception.

North Carolina law prohibits the use of tobacco by persons under the
age of 18. BSA policy does not allow the use of tobacco on any BSA
activity. Pack 347 policy does not allow the use of tobacco within
sight or smell of the scouts on ANY Pack activity, including meetings,
outings, and service projects.
• Use of profanity, as well as profane or lewd displays on personal items is not allowed.
• Gambling is incompatible with scouting values and is prohibited.
